Louise's Bio
Developing people drives me; it’s the aspect I love the most about my career in financial services compliance. There is no greater reward than seeing someone get promoted or move into an area they never thought themselves capable of. It’s for that reason that when Vicky and I decided to build Vilo Sky my goal became to create environments in which people can thrive.
I am a strong believer in diversity of thought and the benefits it brings to an organisation. I have embedded a culture of diversity and inclusion within all teams I have managed and had a richer, more fulfilling and successful career as a result. Having chaired Diversity Councils, mentored and coached volumes of colleagues from all backgrounds and seen them grow, it keeps me growing and learning too.
I’m at my best when I am busy and have lots going on, whether that’s trips abroad, my voluntary job or spending time exploring new eateries with my friends and family. My greatest love is my adorable sausage dog, Frank.
Vicky's bio
After many many years of working in financial services, I finally realised that the one thing I am truly passionate about is helping people develop. The culture of an organisation and the style of leadership within it has such an impact on the ability of its teams to perform that I was astounded to see senior leaders unaware of how damaging a lack of effective people management can be. I wanted to influence change that encourages leaders to embrace a person as a whole and not just the persona they present at work. I left the security of corporate life and developed my network. I gained formal coaching qualifications via the ILM, co-founded Vilo Sky with my incredible business partner, and the work I now do inspires me every single day.
As a female who has fought throughout her career for equality and diversity, I am especially driven by the challenges faced by women. I believe everyone flourishes if they are allowed to focus on their unique value. Teams with diverse, complementary skills are infinitely more powerful than teams concentrated with one strength. That, for me, is the power of diversity.
My two adorable children remind me of the need for balance and my support for Nottingham Forest keeps me hiding away in Edinburgh (for now!)
